Designs Ligna began more than thirty years ago as a small workshop,set up by the Philippine's first industrial designer Al de Lange and his wife Kay, to give life to a simple yet basic concept: to manufacture the finest quality crafted furniture. With a team of craftsmen, that combined their skill and dedication to faithfully adhere to that concept, the workshop began to produce furniture pieces known for their unique design and exquisite workmanship. Through the years, the workshop's reputation grew. Inevitably, the small workshop expanded to meet the local market's growing demand for Designs Ligna Furniture. Responding to the export thrust of the country in the early 80's, Designs Ligna ventured into the international market, confident of the design and quality of its products. For over 20 years Designs Ligna performed O. E. M. work for leading manufacturers in the United States such as Henredon, Lexington, Century, Stanley, American Drew, Thomasville, Lane and Hekman. After having honed its skills, Designs Ligna, shifted to developing and marketing their own designs directly to high end retailers. Today they supply their exclusive products to 17 countries in 4 continents.
