onPanjiva Program Nets Diverse Set of Six New Data Sources
Program Continues to Provide Channel for Global Data Sources to Publish Information and Enriches Panjiva Supplier Intelligence Platform
New York, Oct 19, 2009 – Earlier today, Panjiva, the leading source of objective information on global suppliers, announced relationships with six organizations which will make data available via the Panjiva intelligence platform. The relationships are a result of the “onPanjiva” program which was launched in July. In a period of six weeks, over 100 organizations were nominated for inclusion onPanjiva, and over 20 of these organizations applied to publish data onPanjiva.
In consultation with clients and advisers, Panjiva selected a diverse set of these applicants for fourth quarter 2009 integration into the Panjiva intelligence platform. Some of the selected applicants were: Customs Info, Good Factories, Made-By, The American Apparel Producers’ Network, and TriVista Sourcing. These new data sources will appear on the Panjiva platform alongside data from existing Panjiva affiliates, such as deKieffer & Horgan, DP Information Group, Hong Kong Trade Development Council, SINOSURE, Social Accountability International (SAI), and Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production (WRAP).
Selected applicants reflect the diversity of information available on global suppliers. Panjiva CEO Josh Green noted, “Our clients are constantly asking for more information – and more types of information. To satisfy these diverse needs, we have selected a diverse set of data providers for inclusion onPanjiva: including organizations with industry-specific data, a firm that collects on-the-ground intelligence, and a compiler of government data.”
According to Panjiva CTO James Psota, “Over the last several years, we have built technology that enables us to rapidly integrate multiple data sources. Panjiva users will see the benefits of this technology as we integrate several new data sources into the Panjiva intelligence platform by the end of this year.”
Through the onPanjiva program, organizations with information about global suppliers can apply to publish this information via Panjiva Search, the most comprehensive search engine for global trade. onPanjiva is part of Panjiva’s broader strategy to continually build its data sources as a means of providing clients with the robust information they need to make strategic supply chain decisions.
The onPanjiva program will continue on a regular cycle, with applications to be reviewed in quarterly rounds. Between now and November 30th, global businesses can nominate information providers they would like to see onPanjiva during the first quarter of 2010 – as part of next round of onPanjiva. The first company to nominate an information provider that ultimately publishes its information onPanjiva will receive one-year’s worth of free access to information from this provider. Information providers can also nominate themselves for inclusion onPanjiva.
The onPanjiva program is emblematic of Panjiva’s belief that connecting companies with information is the key to transforming global trade. For answers to Frequently Asked Questions about onPanjiva, visit http://on.panjiva.com/
