Panjiva CEO Josh Green Named as Supply Chain Industry “Pro to Know”

Honored by Supply & Demand Chain Executive as an industry leader

New York, Feb. 24, 2010Panjiva, the leading source of objective information on global manufacturers, today announced that Chief Executive Officer Josh Green has been recognized by Supply & Demand Chain Executive in its listing of 2010 Provider Pros to Know, the magazine’s annual listing of top supply and demand chain industry professionals. Green has emerged as a champion for creating visibility in the supply chain and is committed to closing the data gap that has long inhibited sourcing teams from efficiently finding and managing overseas suppliers.

The concept behind Panjiva was conceived by Green and co-founder James Psota in 2005 after experiencing firsthand the challenge of identifying and tracking overseas suppliers. Panjiva’s robust supplier intelligence database alleviates this burden by delivering independent data on the over one million suppliers and manufacturers across 190 countries that constitute the US supply chain in an easy-to-use platform. In addition to shipment data from U.S. Customs, Panjiva includes a diversity of data that deliver an in-depth look into the track record of overseas suppliers, including financials, product quality and safety, social responsibility and other qualities important to the global sourcing community.

With many companies now returning to their pre-recession purchasing levels, Green encourages knowledge sharing among sourcing teams. In early 2010, the company made its platform available via an unlimited user pricing model. For $999 a month or $10,000 annually, users receive the accurate, independent information needed to identify and research manufacturers and suppliers before doing business with them, as well as monitor existing suppliers. In the coming months, Panjiva will be announcing several additional offerings designed to help global sourcing teams operate in the post-recession environment.

“This year’s ‘Provider Pros to Know’ have shown themselves to be thought-leaders in the Supply Chain industry,” said Andrew K. Reese, editor of Supply & Demand Chain Executive. “Highlighting the learnings that the ‘Provider Pros to Know’ have taken out of the Great Recession provides our readers with a wealth of best practices that they can apply in their own supply chains, as well as insights into how leading organizations are positioning themselves for competitive advantage in the Great Recovery ahead.”

Under the leadership of Green and Psota, Panjiva received the 2009 Model of Excellence Award from InfoCommerce Group for its innovative data products and robust supplier intelligence platform which, according to organizers, is “blazing new trails” in the area of global sourcing and supplier management.  Green authors the Panjiva blog, where he spots trends in commodity, as well as supplier and regional trends month over month. He also is a go-to source on all aspects of global sourcing, trade trends and supply chain issues and has been quoted in The Wall Street Journal, New York Times, and leading trade press.

“I am honored to be included among this noteworthy list of supply chain professionals,” said Green. “As the sourcing world grows larger, my vision is to bring it together. With the ongoing support and innovation from the Panjiva team, I’m confident it can happen and that our clients will emerge from the recession armed with the knowledge they need to successfully manage their global supply chains.”
