Many of these small businesses were started to offer safe, quality alternatives to today's retail junk. This new legislation insures - demands! - that work-at-home-moms and other small business people close their doors in the face of expensive testing and increased prices on their products that would toss them right out of the market anyway. So-called "consumer" groups should be ashamed of themselves. I can tell you one thing CPSIA accomplishes: the closing of thousands of home-based entrepreneurial businesses all across the country.
