Trendspotting helps you with a critical step in the sourcing process: figuring out which countries you should be sourcing your product from. As always, we’ve worked hard to make it easy for you to get insight from messy data. Here’s how you’ll do it:

Step 1: Crack the (HTS) Codes

Start by typing in the HTS code of your product. Don’t know how the government classifies your products? Don’t stress. Just type in the product you’re looking for. Panjiva will identify the relevant HTS codes. Keep it simple, and select them all — or focus on the specific ones that you’re interested in. Now you’re ready to generate your very own Trendspotting report.

Step 2: Spot the Hot Geographies

Your Trendspotting report will show you how imports of your product are trending. You’ll see which countries are the biggest exporters of your product. Most importantly, you’ll see which countries are gaining share and which are losing share. Of course, you can export the graphs and the data. Or, with one click, you can create a PDF of your report, so you can share it with your colleagues.

Step 3: Search for Suppliers

Trendspotting is tied into Panjiva Search. So, once you’ve picked a sourcing destination, you can, with one click, get a list of that country’s top suppliers of your product.
