President-elect Trump is committed making the U.S. a net exporter of energy. U.S. crude oil imports were 11 times its exports in the 12 months to November 30. While exports increased 44% on a year earlier in the three months including November, imports also increased 9% over the same period and a further 25% in December. Canada is the largest supplier – its exports climbed 25% in November, and oil makes up 14% of Canadian exports.
