Hurricane Matthew will likely hit southern Florida between October 6 and 7, according to the NHC, having already devastated Haiti. From a logistics perspective, operations at Port Everglades and Miami may be disrupted. They accounted for 4% of national import volumes, and 13% of east-coast volumes in the past two months, Panjiva data shows. Companies facing supply chain issues include apparel-maker Hanesbrands and the cruise operators Carnival and Royal Caribbean. Workarounds may be difficult if storm conditions spread further north.
