Assa Abloy locks in price increases to offset freight costs

Lock maker Assa Abloy reported a 6.6% year over year decline in sales due to reduced office service sales. The firm has also had to deal with higher freight costs, which it is likely trying to pass through to consumers with CEO Nico Delvaux stating “we will do everything we can and with the information we have today, we will, of course, strive to neutralize material cost increases through price increases.” Panjiva’s data shows total U.S. seaborne imports linked to Assa Abloy fell by 4.6% year over year in Q4’20 and have dropped by a further 17.9% in January.
