Autos Fall Behind Japan’s Export Surge, Pharmaceuticals Look Healthy

Japan’s trade surge continued for a tenth straight month in September, led by a 14% growth in exports. That outstripped a 12% expansion in imports, repeating a pattern seen across Asia in September. The chemicals industry led the growth in exports, including a 59% jump in pharmaceuticals exports, marking a contrast to the slowdown seen in Indian healthcare exports.
