Breville cooks up capital raise for growth as COVID-19 slices shipments

Home appliance maker Breville has raised new equity. The timing is notable in coming during the pandemic but follows significant growth for the firm in 2019. U.S. seaborne imports linked to the firm surged 37.8% higher year over year in 2019. That’s slowed to a 4.4% drop in Q1 and a 27.8% slide in April, which is unsurprising given COVID-19’s impact on appliance demand as well as supply chain disruptions.
