China Deal Could Help U.S. LNG Exporters Achieve Their Potential

U.S. LNG export capacity is expected to increase by 36.1% by the end of 2018 and by a further 2.5x by the end of 2019 according to EIA calculations. Exports from existing facilities climbed 40.3% on a year earlier in the three months to Oct. 31 as a result of the opening of Dominion Energy’s Cove Point facility earlier in 2018. The U.S.-China trade war has taken a toll on exports though with shipments to China down 53.7% over the same period.
