U.S. retail sales growth steadied at 15.4% year over year, down slightly from 15.9% year over year in July. Growth against August 2019 was also coincidentally 15.4%, showing that the post lockdown boom was in full swing by last August. Sports and leisure retailers continued to show the largest growth rate, up 31.7% against 2019 with e-commerce retailers increasing non-store sales by 30.9% in the same period.
