Negotiations to complete the CPTPP trade deal including Japan, Mexico, Canada and others run from January 22 in an attempt to finalize a deal that was nearly completed last November. While much of the focus has been on Canada’s demands in non-goods chapters of the deal, it should be noted that Mexico’s positioning is just as important with parallel NAFTA talks this week.
