Expeditors Loses to CH Robinson as China Tariff Implementation Approaches

The freight forwarders operating U.S. seaborne services experienced a bumper month in July with a 6% increase in volumes making for the 17th straight month of growth. That reflects a mixture of a strong consumer economy as well as a race to beat new tariffs on Chinese exports. The latter has favored the Asia specialists with Orient Express’s volumes up 27% and Kerry’s by 18%. Yet, not all forwarders did as well.
