The U.S. Commerce Department has applied tariffs to Chinese exports of wooden kitchen furniture after determining widespread dumping at below cost into the U.S. Imports have already fallen significantly with shipments from China to the U.S. having fallen by 68.3% in Q4 and by a further 22.5% in January. That’s only been partly offset by a 59.7% surge in shipments from Vietnam. Imports linked to Deway and Dalian Meisen – which have been targeted for tariffs – have already fallen to zero.
