India May Join America in Restricting Solar To Help Domestic Industry

The Indian government may implement a 70% “safeguarding” tariff on imports of solar panels. That’s designed in part to enable domestic manufacturing targets, while also preventing an influx of imports once the U.S. implements restrictions under its section 201 review of the industry. It joins a wide range of recently implemented tariffs designed to support and promote domestic manufacturing.
