Labor practice constraint yet to hurt U.S. glove supplies in COVID-19 fight

Malaysian rubber glove suppliers may be struggling to keep up with pandemic-related demand due to a shortage of labor which could cut production by 26% versus prior plans according to the MARMA industry group. U.S. Withhold Release Orders against imports linked to Top Glove because of labor practice concerns may also restrict supplies. So far, though, U.S. imports have yet to suffer with shipments up by 43.7% in July compared to May while seaborne imports in August rose by a further 2.5% from July.
