Container-lines operating on Brazilian routes had a bumper month in September after volumes climbed 14%. Growth was led by Asian shippers including COSCO Shipping (49% higher) and NYK (33% better).
In relative terms Maersk lost out with growth of just 4%. The latter likely reflects a mixture of refocusing on more profitable business, as seen in the U.S. in October, as well as a preemptive shedding of share ahead of its takeover of Hamburg Sud.
