Mexico Crushed Under China’s Wheels as Accuride Launches Trade Complaint

Accuride and Maxion have brought a petition against Chinese exports of steel wheels to the U.S., alleging dumping at rates of up to 232%. The case is one of the more significant brought in the past year with $396 million of exports from China in the 12 months to January 31. That followed a surge of 36% in the three months to January 31, which came mostly at the expense of Mexican and other manufacturers as total U.S. imports only rose 3%.
