The application process for Section 301 List 4A exemptions closed on Jan 31st with 8,783 exemptions filed, covering $108 billion in goods from China. None have yet been decided upon. The applications show a fall in interest from applicants in the exclusion process as measured by the number of requests per billion dollars in covered imports. List 3 had 151 requests per billion dollars of imports, while list 4A ended up with 81, a 46.3% reduction.
