MSC and Evergreen Lean on Spain and Taiwan to Outpace Their Peers

The container-lines operating U.S.-inbound services had a solid start to 2019 after volumes climbed 5.8% year over year in January. All but two of the major container lines – ZIM Shipping and Orient Overseas – experienced slowing growth while the biggest loser was Cosco Shipping which suffered a 15.5% drop. The fastest growing shippers were MSC and Evergreen Marine. Both likely gained through a mixture of route updates and aggressive marketing.
