The USTR will review Thailand’s eligibility for reduced import tariffs under the Generalized System of Preferences following complaints from American pork producers. That follows a widening pattern of GSP reviews, most recently against the eligibility for India among others. The case isn’t really about pork preferences – Thailand has imported less than $1 million annually from all suppliers globally.
