XPO Smashes Sales Estimates, Suffers Forwarders’ Profitability Problems

XPO Logistics reported 1Q 2018 revenues that surged 18% on a year earlier after gains in the industrials logistics business in the U.S. and fashion in the EU. That resulted in revenues exceeding expectations by 7%, ahead of K+N’s 6% to become the highest among the freight forwarders that have reported so far. The freight forwarding sector likely grew revenues by 12% in the first quarter, driven in part by continued global trade growth.
