Australia 123 Consumer Staples 758 European Union 823 U.S. 5314

The Australian wine industry faces a challenging 2019 as it faces the worst grape harvest since 2011. The industry had already been suffering with exports to the U.S. having fallen by 12.5% year over year in 2018 to reach $354.6 million and a share of just 5.8% in U.S. wine imports. Meanwhile shipments to the EU rose by just 0.1%. The leading exporters of Australian wine to the U.S. include Yellowtail brand-owner Casella Family with a 32.0% share of seaborne shipments followed by Treasury Wine Estates and Pernod Ricard.
