Less Below Normal Than Normal Export Stance for Managers Before Brexit

The latest CBI survey of British managers shows a net 10% of respondents see order levels below normal. That is worse than the 9% for January but better than the long term average of 16%. The result comes despite exports in December rising at their fastest rate since February 2011. This suggests companies are concerned about, but taking a wait-and-see approach towards, the process of exiting the European Union. That is due to start by the end of March, with the U.K. government likely to take a hawkish stance in negotiations.
