Chinese shipyards saw their production outstrip new orders for a 13th straight month in June. The orderbook is now 47% below its September 2014 and at its lowest since at least 2011. Orders dropped 20% on a year earlier in the first half of the year, vs. a doubling at South Korea’s government-finance supported yards. A slowdown in production seems likely with orders equivalent to just 15 months of production.
