CAT Looks To Extend 120% Overseas Auto Battery Sales Growth With New Factory

China-based automotive battery maker Contemporary Amperex Technology (CAT) will hold an IPO of 10% of its shares to raise 13.1 billion yuan ($1.98 billion) in order to finance a new factory in Huxi. That could make it the biggest auto battery maker, by capacity, globally. Sales are predominantly in China, but the international business is growing. The company’s exports climbed 120% on a year earlier in the 12 months to September 30 to reach $319 million.
