The U.S. Commerce and Agriculture departments have finalized rules allowing new exports of American beef to China. That is one of the two areas of goods export improvements that form part of the 100 day program between the U.S. and China. Panjiva data shows the rules coming at the right time. U.S. beef exports fell 16% in the three months to April 30 while Chinese import demand increased 33%. Shipments from Brazil, where an export ban to China was lifted in August 2015, have reached $764 million annually. A similar rate for U.S. farmers could add 12% to total exports.
