Deal on Rice Would Be Nice for Mexico and Brazil

The Mexican government will hold talks with Brazil in the next few days to improve agricultural trade between the two countries, according to Brazilian Agriculture Minister Blairo Maggi. One early area of agreement may be Brazilian rice exports. That would fit with the Mexican government’s strategy to diversify its food supplies away from the U.S. ahead of NAFTA negotiations.
