Global containerized freight handling expanded for a 16th straight month in August. The 7% growth rate, based on Panjiva analysis of ports in 13 countries, set a new record since at least 2013 of 33.5 million TEUs. It still lagged airfreight growth of 12% however. Further growth should be possible given export managers across Europe, the U.S. and Asia remain upbeat.
