The Mobile World Congress has a significant focus on 5G telecoms network rollouts, with Huawei having announced trials with 30 network operators globally. Its exports of 4G equipment have had something of a renaissance, rising 16% in the fourth quarter on a year earlier after dropping 22% in the prior three quarters. That’s been led by emerging markets – the U.S. is largely off-limits due to national security concerns there – with shipments to India having risen by 106% on a year earlier.
