Ikea’s retail innovation continues with a move into small-scale, e-commerce driven mall locations to complement its big box locations. That follows the purchase of Task Rabbit and experiments in augmented reality systems as it seeks to maintain sales growth. The success of the formula can be seen in a 7% rise in U.S. imports of its products in 2017, though a slowdown to 4% in the fourth quarter shows continued efforts are needed.
