The Mexican government will release an updated national energy plan in April that will allow Pemex to “share its upstream risk” by diversifying natural gas supplies. That’s not a surprise given previous statements from President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador regarding the oil sector. Mexico’s imports of natural gas surged 21.6% higher year over year in 2018 to reach $7.81 billion.
