Italy’s trade surplus Jumped 68% on a year earlier in June as imports dropped 6% and exports were flat, showing a weak economy and struggling competitiveness. Export volumes to the U.S. increased by 12% in July, Panjiva data shows, perhaps reflecting a strong housing market as exports are dominated by stone and tiles. However, this was converted into euros so exports may continue to struggle.
