Jets Stream More Cargo, Adding To Evidence of Continued World Trade Growth

Global 1389 Logistics 476 Mode - Airfreight 181 Trade Balance 932

Global airfreight increased by 9% in April, the 12th straight rise. Capacity growth continued to lag, leading to average utilization rates reaching 45% from 44% a year ago. Latin American based airlines continued to lag the pack, with a 2% fall in volumes. The increased handling joins seaborne freight handling improvements across China and the U.S. among others. That provides evidence that the 6% growth in global trade in March may have gone further in April.
