Maersk’s No Comment, No Need to Rush on Strategy

Maersk may split into distinct energy and transport companies, local press reports. The company refuse to comment. It has lagged peers Hapag-Lloyd and CMA-CGM strategicaly, but this may be due in part to 7% stronger volumes in 2Q . The opening to 3Q looks more challenging – Panjiva data shows U.S. volumes down 5% on a year earlier.
