Japanese cosmetics manufacturer Shiseido has reoriented its production towards COVID-19 related essentials such as hand sanitizers. That may help maintain employment at its factories as demand for luxury goods may be coming under pressure. The latter phenomenon can be seen in a 33.3% slump in U.S. seaborne imports linked to Shiseido in the first half of April compared to a year earlier.
