The Chinese government has extended its sanctions against North Korea to include crude oil, among other measures. The move comes as relations with North Korea are beginning to normalize somewhat, including talks this week with South Korea and even President Trump stating a willingness to speak to Chairman Kim. China’s trade surplus with North Korea reached $188 million in November and $1.5 billion in the 12 months to November 30.
