China wants to increase trade in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Central Asia, echoing its proposed RCEP trade deal in the Pacific Rim. Increased consumer electronics demand from the largest partners – India, Pakistan and Russia – likely drove the 6% increase in exports to the group in the three months to August, Panjiva data shows. Yet there is more to be done, with exports to number four partner Kazakhstan falling 7% over the same period. There are another nine countries looking to join if it is a successful trade deal.
