American Manufacturing Rebound Hopes Driven By Better Export Outlook

U.S. manufacturing sentiment hit its highest since August 2014, according to the latest ISM survey. It was in part driven by exports, where the proportion of managers seeing better-than-normal conditions was a net positive 9.5%, returning to the February 2012 high last seen in April. Import sentiment also increased to its highest since December 2014, which when taken alongside improving Chinese import sentiment suggests stronger exports from the two countries’ suppliers.
