Cargill, Sucden Down After India’s Sugar Subsidy Rush

The Indian government will extend sugar export subsidies by as much as 60% in the next harvest year to Oct. 31, 2020 despite a World Trade Organization complaint brought by Brazil and Australia. That would suggest the Modi administration will continue to aggressively use trade protectionism to boost the local economy.
