The Indian Drug Manufacturers Association has warned that restrictions on cargo flights to India from China for the pharmaceutical industry could have “cascading effects on its entire supply chain”. China accounted for 75.5% of Indian imports of active pharmaceutical ingredients in the 12 months to Feb. 28. Shipments from China had increased by 10.8% year over year in the three months to Feb. 28, while those from the U.S. dipped before recovering in March.
