China Port Growth Confirms Tariff Pre-emption Strategy

China’s ports handled 8% more traffic than a year earlier in February, with a 5% rise for the first two months of the year together. That would suggest robust trade and a minimal impact from the lunar new year holiday. The port of Guangzhou grew the quickest, while Ningbo-Zhoushan fell 3% and dropped to third place behind Shenzhen. That comes despite Ningbo-Zhoushan’s broad range of exports.
