The freight forwarding industry is dealing with an unprecedented mix of rapidly increasing demand and capacity imbalances in the maritime industry. There’s been little respite with U.S. seaborne imports in November up by 17.1% year over year on a 33.3% jump in traffic from Chinese ports. The elevated demand may be leading shipping service users to prefer larger, potentially more flexible freight forwarders.
