The U.S. ITC has ruled that Chinese exports of biaxial geogrid, used in roadbuilding, were dumped below cost into the U.S. market. Panjiva data shows the case has only be partially successful since its initiation a year ago. Total imports were 36% lower in the 12 months to January 31 vs. 12 months prior. Yet, imports from China were only 31% lower due to a January surge from leading shippers including Bostd. The timescale and partial success likely supports Commerce Secretary appointee Ross’s calls for faster, self-initiated trade cases.
