U.S. non-farm payrolls in October increased 161,000 – less than economists were expecting. Employment in the logistics industry inched ahead 0.2%, led by continued growth in e-commerce linked segments such as warehousing and couriers. However, employment in waterborne and support sectors fell 1.8% and 0.2% respectively. This likely reflects layoffs by Hanjin Shipping following its financial administration.
