U.S. imports of weapons and parts have fallen since the elections, with a 31% drop in February vs. October, and a 22% reduction on a year earlier. That closely tracks lower background check data gathered by the FBI. It remains to be seen whether a recent relaxation of parts of the checking process signed by President Trump will make a difference. Notably ammunition imports dropped in February.
