The government of Bangladesh has increased export subsidies for apparel manufacturers, with pressure from the industry for further funding and a devaluation of the Taka. Exports of apparel have already been robust with a 23.9% year over year increase in shipments to the U.S. in the three months to May 31, while shipments to India rose 73.3% year over year in the first quarter.
