India’s Finance Ministry will apply anti-dumping duties to exports of cold-rolled, flat stainless steel from seven countries and regions including China. Initial duties in 2015 and a circumvention review in 2016 did not stop a rise in imports. Panjiva data shows there has been a resurgence recently, with imports jumping 32% in the past three months on a year earlier. That’s been led by Chinese exporters including specialty trader Intexport and manufacturer Century Steel. Duties of 57% come hot on the heels of a similar case for Chinese exports of coated flat steel.
