Container handling through the Port of New York jumped by 10% on a year earlier, the seventh straight month of growth. By contrast to the other U.S. east coast ports imports expanded more quickly than exports. Import growth of 7% beat the 6% average nationally, suggesting that despite the port’s scale the Bayonne Bridge raising is having an effect.
